Carol Singing Christmas 2010




The snow added to the atmosphere on Friday morning in the small square. Our band sang and played aloud to the neighbours, parents and friends who stopped to listen.

Science Day 2010










Pictures speak a thousand words! As a whole school project we had every class participate in our science day demonstrations. Each class had to demonstrate and explain the reason behind their experiment to the boys visiting their table. Our young scientists had a fantastic day.

Jim Quinlan Science Demonstration


Local man Jim Quinlan, spent time with our boys last Friday demonstrating various science experiments. Using every day food ingredients the boys got to see science at work from a different point of view.

Athletics Training - Senior Infants


Here we have Mrs. Lane's boys enjoying the athletics training that started this week for all classes. Watch out for the Olympics as our boys are in training all ready!!

One might think CSI Listowel had come to our school this week but our boys in 6th class were learning all about microscopes as part of science week.

Super Furry Animals - Junior Infants






Mrs O' Connor's junior infant boys had a great morning learning about our native wild animals. The super furry animals exhibit from Killarney National Park was seen by the junior classes to celebrate science week.

MS READaTHON 2010 - SENIOR CLASSES

Some of Iníon Choileáin 3rd class are taking up the challenge of reading as many books as they can from the 15th of October to the 15th of November to raise funds for people with multiple sclerosis. The MS READaTHON is a sponsored read for young people which encourages children to read.

Basket Ball Coaching 2010



Did you know along with football coaching on Monday's we have basket ball coaching every Thursday. We are really getting to enjoy the bonce passing, dribbling and shooting associated with basketball, but sometimes those baskets seem very far away for the boys in Mrs Mahonys 1st & 2nd.

Cumann Na mBunscoil Champions 2010

Congratulations to Mr. Guiney and the school football team for winning the North Kerry Cumann Na mBunscoil final. While some might think being 11 points down at half time would be hard to come back from, our boys scored 4 fantastic goals in the second half and won the thrilling match by 2 points. Well done!!

Science In Action!!




Mrs Lane's Class are busy mixing liquids to make bubbles in preparation for science week. A lot of fun was had by all!!

1st & 5th Class Nature Walk

Mrs Mahony's 1st class and Máistir Mac Síthigh 5th Class went on a nature walk around the local park. The younger boys had to collect conkers, acorns, ash seeds, sycamore helicopters, berries and various leaves while the older boys had to complete a autumn project including measuring the circumference of a tree to estimate its age!

End of Year Mass 2010

Every year the end of year mass signifies fare well wishes to our 6th Class boys, as they leave our school for secondary. We wish them all the very best for the future.

Senior School League 2010




The senior league made up of the boys from 4th, 5th and 6th Classes, was a full of excitement twists and surprises.The school league is played over a few weeks for a few rounds with the final held on the last week of school. Congratulations to the Country 2010 winners.

Junior School League 2010




The annual school league is a much anticipated event not only in the school but by the town of Listowel. This years league lived up to all the excitement.The junior league teams are the boys from 1st, 2nd and 3rd classes. A special thanks to Mr. P.J. Kenny who came back to co-ordinate the teams, matches and refereeing. Congratulations to the Gleann on winning the 2010 junior league.

Junior Classes School Tour 2010







A fun filled day at Kennedy's Pet Farm, Killarney was had by Mrs. O' Connor's junior infants and Mrs. Lane's senior infants and first class. As you can see they really made themselves at home minding all the animals.
