Creating a Garden




Mrs. Mahony's 1st & 2nd class were very busy in the garden last week. They planted spring onions and peas, with careful consideration of the daffodils still on display. All the classes will be out over the next few weeks with a variety of vegetables on the menu, so watch this space!

Chilling Chimes



All our junior classes got to play the chimes and create beautiful soothing music. Mrs Mahony's 1st & 2nd Class were enthralled in the lesson.

Badminton Coaching




All Classes started Badminton coaching this week. Local man Mark Loughnane is going to be with us for a few weeks helping the boys with co-ordination, long and short serves and most importantly getting the shuttle over the net. Here you can see the determination of the 1st, 2nd and 5th class boys.

Drumming Workshop For All Classes




All our classes had great fun participating in a drumming music class. Bongo drums, tambourines, cowbells were some of the instruments we had. Our boys definitely have rhythm and had no problems making noise! Here are some pictures of the 6th Class and 1st Class boys in action.

Basket Ball Coaching 2010



Did you know along with football coaching on Monday's we have basket ball coaching every Thursday. We are really getting to enjoy the bonce passing, dribbling and shooting associated with basketball, but sometimes those baskets seem very far away for the boys in Mrs Mahonys 1st & 2nd.

1st & 5th Class Nature Walk

Mrs Mahony's 1st class and Máistir Mac Síthigh 5th Class went on a nature walk around the local park. The younger boys had to collect conkers, acorns, ash seeds, sycamore helicopters, berries and various leaves while the older boys had to complete a autumn project including measuring the circumference of a tree to estimate its age!

Junior Classes School Tour 2010







A fun filled day at Kennedy's Pet Farm, Killarney was had by Mrs. O' Connor's junior infants and Mrs. Lane's senior infants and first class. As you can see they really made themselves at home minding all the animals.

1st, 2nd & 4th Visit Shannon Fisheries





To celebrate fisheries week Mrs. Mahony's 1st & 2nd and Iníon Ni Choileáin's 4th Class were invited to Shannon Fisheries. There we got to see baby trout, baby salmon, eels, crabs, may flies, stone flies among many other insects and fish that live in our River Feale. All the boys got a chance to cast fishing rods and to sit in the speed boats and jet skis used by Shannon Fisheries.
