Soccer Training

Along with football training every second Monday with John Dillon, our boys are getting some intense soccer training also. Here's hoping we get some dry weather as hall windows are not soccer friendly!

Readathon 2011 for Multiple Sclerosis

Our boys raised an amazing amount of money this year by reading alone! All classes from second to sixth were asked to read as many books as they could in a month and if possible get sponsored. Suffice to say they did us proud!

Big Band Experience

Our band were out in force last week for radio Kerry's visit to Listowel. You can hear them in action again this week when we head down town for some carol singing! See you there!

Fire Safety Talk

Fireman Ned Keane came to second and third class this week for a very important talk on fire safety. As you can see we had a few demonstrations on how to hold various fire safety equipment. Each pupil then had to complete a fire safety survey at home with their parents.

Science Week 2011

We had a busy day in the hall today showing off our science expertise to celebrate science week.

Winners of ISTA Science Quiz 2011

Well done to Sean Carey, Eddie Kelly and Daniel Sheehan and their outstanding success at the Science quiz. They got 60 questions correct from a total of 64!! We'er all so proud.

Winners of Poetry Competition

A huge congratulations to Sean Carey (6th Class), Niall Stack (5th) and Eddie Kelly (6th) for winning Community Games Limerick Poetry Competition.

Cumann Na mBunscoil Final 2011

We are so proud of our boys who played a fantastic final last Thursday evening in Tralee. We were up against Gaelscoil Trali . Some might think a score of 4 goals and 7 would win you the match but unfortunately it was not to be. Our boys played with heart to the final whistle and for they can have no regrets.

Tidy Towns Awards 2011

Well done to all the staff and pupils of Scoil Realta na Maidine for winning an award at the recent Tidy Towns Award night. Mrs Costello collected our award on the night from Minister Jimmy Deenihan.

After School Music Classes 2011 -2012

A warm welcome to the new boys who started in Junior Infants. Lovely music can be heard from their class room so they must be settling in well.

Our boys were honoured to have Killian Young with us today for football training. We'll all be watching him Sunday as he togs out with Kerry against Cork.

The day everyone was waiting for, the senior football final. Great match but the Country clinched it. Well Done Boys.

Sports Day 2011

Due to the terrible weather this year we were unable to plan for a sports day. On Thursday when we got a few dry hours we ran off the class races. Intense competition between the heats made for great finals.

Infant League Final 2011

The Infant League final was held today for the junior and senior infants. While rules and regulations can be often hard to remember when you have a ball in your hand, the entertainment value was superb! Well done to the Gleann.

Junior School Tour 2011

Our boys left Listowel last Friday early at 8.20am, bound for Mallow GAA grounds. On arrival we hardly had time to eat. Flicker bikes, pony trekking, Ko-Karts, bungee jumping, Zorb Ball, wrecking ball, wobbly ladders, Olympic handball, human soccer table, obstacle courses and lunch was a lot to fit! A fantastic, fun, filled day!
