Busy Year in the Star Class

As you can tell its our boys in the Star Class have had a very busy year, and its not over yet!

Garden Blessing

After 3 years working on the vegetable garden and sensory garden, we had Fr. Declan come and bless our lovely outdoor space yesterday. We all sang our new school song ' Reach for the Stars'. Our parents council gave all the boys buns to celebrate. The sun shone brightly and we had a lovely day.

Planting Vegetables in the Garden

1st and 2nd Class had great fun planting courgettes, sweet corn and peas in our garden. The senior classes planted carrots, and last years strawberry plants are in full bloom. Mrs Sheehy was on hand to help with digging and cleaning up.

Non Uniform Day for Shave & Dye Cancer Research

Two of our past pupils, Iarla O' Mahony and Jason Kenny asked us to sponsor them in a cancer fund raising effort so this Friday we'er having a non uniform day. They took part in the shave or dye challenge. Our boys had a good giggle on seeing Jason arrive back with blue hair.

Caterpillars, Chrysalides and Butterflies

There was great excitement in 1st & 2nd class today as we let our butterflies free. We grew the caterpillars in class and watched them get big.  Three weeks ago they changed into chrysalides/cocoons but this week emerged as beautiful butterflies.  I hope they like our garden.
