Science in the Classroom

As you can tell our boys love science and more so when we can see science in action. Here are a selection of photos of some of our classes. Our 3rd & 4th class boys were testing gravity using paper helicopters and investigating the properties of balance. Our 6th class boys were making wind instruments and our 1st class boys made colourful spinners.

Gabriel Fitzmaurice Poetry Workshop

Our 4th Class had a inspiring visit to the Seanachai Centre for a poetry workshop with poet Gabriel Fitzmaurice. A great morning had by all as seen on the Kerry's Eye newspaper.

Credit Union Quiz Winners

Congratulations to Shawn Carey, Daniel Sheehan, Eddie Kelly, Eddie Brown and Mrs. Costello for coming first in the Credit Union Quiz. We wish them the very best of luck for the next round of quiz which is on Sunday 4th of March.

St. Brigid's Day 2012

An important day in our school is St. Brigid's Day. While all classes celebrate this important feast day here are photos of our senior boys in 6th class, who made the cross from rushes as St. Brigid herself made, whereas the boys in junior infants cut and paint their own crosses.

Our Junior & Senior Infants had a fun day doing floating and sinking experiments along with learning about water conservation. A splishing splashing time was had by all!

Ballybunion Sea & Cliff Rescue Visit

As part of Water Week our 5th & 6th Classes got to travel to Ballybunion to meet the important people at Sea & Cliff Rescue. Living so close to the sea this service is very important to our community and all those who use the sea.

Water Safety 2nd & 3rd Class

Thanks to Kieran from Ballybunion Leisure Centre for coming to visit the boys in 2nd & 3rd class for an important talk on water safety. Water Safety was an important aspect of Water Week in our school.
